Kiron Chatterjee – CEO

Kiron is a Hong Kong born Indian/Chinese with over 34 years solid business leadership, management, sales, consulting and execution experience in the S.E. Asia Information Technology and Telecommunications sectors including most recently India for 2.5 years. A senior executive who is a strong project manager and approaches IT from a business and strategic rather than technical perspective; who believes that IT should perform as a business contributor as opposed to being managed as a cost center. He has worked and consulted for companies such as:

  • The Airport Authority HK – Defining, implementing and operating the diverse systems needed for one of the 10 largest infrastructure projects of the 20th century.
  • Asia On-line HK Ltd –Restructuring and stabilising a loss making Internet Services Provider.
  • Gammon Construction Ltd – Helping this leading Asian based construction contractor innovatively implement and leverage new processes and productivity tools.
  • Reliance Industries Navi Mumbai SEZ – Defining world class level Group IT Strategy and Business Processes for a very large Special Economic Zone that would include an airport, port, rail network, bridge and over 10,000 hectares of bonded industrial and residential services.

Other key customers/employers have included Jardine Matheson and Co. Ltd, Price Waterhouse Management Consultants, Hong Kong Land Ltd, Hong Kong International Terminals, MCI WorldCom, The Hong Kong Immigration Department and more recently Mumbai International Airport Ltd.

Today, Kiron is very excited at the emerging and changing IT landscape. We are at the cusp of a new wave that will bring IT and the Business functions MUCH closer. New application development tools, micro based man-to-man and machine-to-man interfaces, the concept of cloud computing and reusable processes AND new ways of monetizing services delivered to businesses. Robert Ivanoff – Principal - Telecoms

Bob is an experienced senior manager with over 25 years in the telecommunications and IT Services industry, including 15 years working throughout the Asia Pacific region. He has held senior level positions with multinational companies based in the US and Asia in operations, consulting, and management. He has worked with key companies including:

• Nortel Networks as Sr. Director of Networking for Asia Pacific and Greater China;
• Principal Consultant and Director of Managed Services for Cogent Consulting Services;
• Vice President and General Manager of Winstar Communications, Hong Kong
• Senior Vice President of Global Technology with ABN Amro Bank’s Wholesale Banking Group based in Singapore; and
• COO of Global IT for a Hong Kong Based Financial Services Company.

Additionally, he co-found a successful Hong Kong teleconferencing and consulting business that was acquired by a US publicly traded company.

He has built and headed domestic and regional telecommunications and network services operations and teams, setting up centers in the US, Hong Kong, Singapore, Guam, Shanghai and other Asian Countries. Bob has established new business entities in Hong Kong, Singapore, Shanghai and Beijing; established voice and data networks covering the entire Pan-Asia region, including China; and helped implement the first digital broadband link between HK and China with Nortel Networks and HK Telecom.

He has proven experience in technical consulting, outsourcing, project leadership, operations management, and business management. He has extensive experience in hiring and managing large multi-cultural, geographically separated staff, bridging cultural differences to forge operational and professional services teams that are highly productive and motivated. Bob works with BPI Asia as an advisor and principal focused on the Telecom and IT Services industry.
 


Derry Fong - Principal - Financial

Derry’s expert areas are in large-scale projects on tier-one ERP applications on Financial Management, Budgeting and Planning, Human Capital Management and Business Intelligence applications. He has over 20 years hands-on practical experience in identification of key user requirements, recommendation of overall information technology strategy, evaluation and selection of ERP solution, project management, Change Management, Project Quality Assurance, Business Process Improvements, project team building, implementation of ERP solutions.

The clients that Derry has provided consultancy services cover various industries. These include University of Hong Kong, Hong Kong Hospital Authority, Hong Kong Housing Authority, Hong Kong Trade Development Council, Novel Enterprises, Hsin Chong Construction Materials, Synergis Management Services, Baxter Healthcare, Macau Telecom, Star TV Group, South Ocean Knitters, American International Assurance, Wing Hang Bank, Tokai Asia Limited, KGI Securities, Bank of China, CITIC Ka Wah Bank, Hong Kong Monetary Authority.

The geographical areas cover Hong Kong, Macau, China and Taiwan.

Derry obtained his tertiary credential from the Hong Kong Polytechnic University with a Higher Diploma in Accountancy. He also obtained a Masters Degree of Business Administration in Finance from the City University Business School in London. He is an associate member of the Hong Kong Institute of Certified Public Accountants, Chartered Institute of Management Accountants, Chartered Association of Certified Accountants.

 


Danyll Wills – Principal – Communications

After studying Chinese and Archaeology at Cambridge, Danyll did the unusual; he went to Japan. He stayed there for 17 years building experience in Communications and in the process learning fluent Japanese. During this time he became interested in computers leading to a successful career in Communications in the IT Industry that has brought him to Hong Kong and China. He has:

  • Edited a specialist magazine for digital designers.
  • Designed software creating the first CD-ROM published in Hong Kong by Apple.
  • Written for the South China Morning Post for the then popular Technology Post special section. It was here that Danyll was able to interview but also make friends with many leaders of Silicon Valley and other innovators in the industry. His network grew extensively from this point.
  • Worked as the Internet Technology Manager, Greater China for Oracle where he designed and executed Oracle’s initiatives to embrace the Linux operating system in China.

Since 2001, Danyll has been involved in helping start-ups and others communicate their ideas to the outside world. He is China Liaison for CommerceNet China, a member of the Hong Kong Knowledge Management Society and part of the Hong Kong branch of the London-based CIO Connect. Danyll speaks several European and Asian languages fluently, including Chinese, Japanese, French, German, English. He can also get about in a few others, including Cantonese, Mongolian, and Russian.

Danyll is very interested in the changes taking place in the IT space. He sees the different forces such as virtual reality, micro services – banking and insurance and new communications technologies – all coming together to offer new and valuable services and processes. He sees new ways of delivering and using technology appearing, including the concept of reusable processes, that BPI Asia will be using. He is working with us to spread the message and support our communications and brand growth.

W Y Loh – Principal

WY is Managing Director of ATD Limited – A Partner of BPI Asia. He is an energetic solutions focused entrepreneur with over 20 years experience in the Telecommunications, Networking and Systems Integration field. His successes have included.

  • Building a successful business such as Metro Link (later acquired by Asia Online) and HugeNet an enterprise focused Internet Services Provider.
  • Completing system and network integration projects for top grade organizations such as The HK Government, Disney Hong Kong, The Airport Authority HK and Hutchison Telecom.
  • Delivering successful projects and building strong networks in Hong Kong, China, Malaysia, Thailand and the Philippines.

Tom Hung - Principal - Project Management 

Tom Hung is CEO of Dynamic Collaboration Consulting. He is a veteran Project Manager with over 30 years of experience in Canada, China, Hong Kong, and South East Asia. He has Twenty five years experience in Operation Management and Project Management, covering financial, logistics, manufacturing, utility, and government industries with world class organizations.


Mr. Hung started as an engineer in Canada in nuclear power operations, and later in military system integration for five years. Mr. Hung moved into project management for military systems and power control systems for six years. Mr. Hung moved to Hong Kong in 1996 and worked as project managers and consultants for Motorola and IBM, with clients including Hong Kong Government, China state banks and foreign banks, and multi-national manufacturing and logistics enterprises.

Mr. Hung created and built Dynamic Collaboration Framework and Toolkit, designed to enable team-work in Enterprise Transformation initiatives. This framework has been successfully deployed in IT Application development, IT infrastructure migration, and in foreign bank localization projects in Hong Kong and China.

He is/has:

  • An experienced consultant and battle hardened practitioner. A natural leader of diverse teams under dynamic environment.
  • Thorough knowledge in Project Management and Operation Management frameworks.
  • A hands-on, can-do, able to formulate and adapt frameworks for practical challenges.
  • A champion in project issues, able to articulate to stakeholder for effective decisions.
  • A SharePoint & VSTO developer in project dashboard and transformation topology.
  • Strong leadership skills, is a good communicator, and respected by colleagues and senior executives.
  • Fluent and excellent writer in English and Chinese. Manager of multi-cultural teams.

His numerous project references in IT system and organization transformation include work in China for various International Banks and China State Banks such as State Street Bank, Bangkok Bank Ltd., ICBC, and BOC; Huawei Technologies Limited; Motorola Hong Kong and in Canada for CAE, Allied Signal, Sperry Systems and Ontario Hydro.
