The Power Predictor – from Better Generation - a really unique tool.
It is a one of a kind site survey tool within the renewable energy sector. It helps governments, private enterprises, consultants, suppliers and individuals determine the best form of renewable wind or solar energy that can be generated in a chosen location. It takes the risk out of choosing between wind and solar by advising the user which of the two forms of energy production is best for that location. Then having made the right choice, the tool becomes an ongoing site audit instrument that can be used to measure the quality of output from the chosen wind or solar generator against the readings from the Power Predictor.
The Power Predictor business model is to upload collected data to a website application that provides analysis of the wind direction, wind speed, and solar radiation. The data is stored and then compared against a database of different wind and solar generation products thereby giving accurate advice on the economics associated with using renewable energy at that location.
Future versions of the Power Predictor will include a GSM version that enables automatic upload to the website using the mobile telephone network AND enhancements to include air quality and a Power Perceiver that will measure actual energy being used by the owner and energy available for other uses such as resell to the grid.
Launched in July 2009, over 20000 have been sold to some 80 countries.
